Consequences

It was different, the world I knew from the world I see today,
Like an apocalypse hit, and the world fell asunder, engulfing everything and everyone along the way.
Is this the wrath of our Mother Nature, for all the pain we have caused her?
Have we pushed the envelope too far?
It is our own doing, isn’t it?
Consequences of our actions;
For all those trees, we chopped.
For all the water bodies we polluted and depleted.
For all those times, we regarded climate change as a joke.
For all those times, we recklessly exploited nature, overcome by greed.
Here we are now, paying a hefty price, both you and I. Standing at crossroads, with nothing but a bleak future ahead of us.
